EXCLUSION PROTOCOL FOR NACS

1. Chicken Pox: Exclude until all lesions have formed scabs, usually 7-10 days

2. Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye): Exclude until eyes are no longer red or draining. Students may return to school with a written statement from their physician stating that the eye redness is due to allergies. They can also return to school if they have a statement from a physician stating that they can return to school 24 hours after starting an antibiotic.

3. Fifth Disease: Exclude only if the child has a temp over 100.0F

4. Head Lice: Parent will be called and notified of Head Lice findings. Treatment will need to be done at home by parent.

5.Mononucleosis: They can attend school unless prevented by the severity of the symptoms or unless they have a fever of 100.0F

6. Ringworm: See physician for appropriate treatment. Student may remain in school.

7. Scabies: Exclude until 24 hours after starting medication treatment.

8. Fever: Exclude it temp is over 100.0F degrees. Student needs to be fever free for 24 hours without Tylenol or Ibuprofen before returning to school.

9. Vomiting: Exclude if they have vomited within the last 24 hours. Student needs to be without vomiting for 24 hours before returning to school.
